Left Sidebar

What is the left sidebar?

The left sidebar is your main tool to navigate each site on the fun.app network. The left sidebar is populated with everything you follow or join, whether that is communities, users, tags, collections, channels or events. Clicking on any of these elements in the sidebar will navigate you to that page. 

What can I add to the left sidebar?

Elements are automaticallty added to your left sidebar when you join a community, follow a user/hashtag/collection/community or join an event.

This section will be where you find friends you have on the site. 

Channels

Channels are custom feeds which you can create or subscribe to. These feeds can contain communities & users of the creator's choice. Channels are used to create feeds of related content so you can narrow your content down to specific topics without having to go to individual feeds. 

Channels can be private (for your eyes only) or public (others are able to see and follow your channel).

Collections

Collections are essentially save folders where you can collect and keep different posts. Other users will not be notified when you save their post to your collections. You automatically have a "My Bookmarks" collection but you can create your own collections to further sort your saved content.

You can save content to your collections by clicking on the book icon of a post:

Collections can be private (for your eyes only) or public (others are able to see and follow your collection).

Events

Events are temporary feeds with a given date/time they take place. When you join an event, you are able to post normally in the event feed anytime leading up to the time of the event. During the set time of the event, the event will be open for posts by attendees. After 24 hours from the scheduled end of the event, no one will be able to add new posts to the event; creators of the event, however, are able to create custom collages from the content that was posted in the event.
