Connect with friends both old and new
fun.social is designed to help you connect with friends old and new, whether you’re sharing an inside joke with your small circle or looking to branch out in a new place.
Connect on topics with fellow enthusiasts
fun.community is a place where people of like interests, hobbies, or backgrounds can come together to find common ground and discuss the things they’re passionate about.Stay up-to-date with news from around the world
fun.news is the best way to keep up with the stories and events that matter to you most, whether around the corner or around the world.
The first sites on the fun.app network are News, Community, Social and Page. Through these sites you can create posts to share content such as text, images, and other media around fun.app. Each site on fun.app is built around posts and specialized according to its name.
On all sites across fun.app, you will find a main navigation and toolbar (on desktop this is on the top of your screen, on mobile the toolbar is located at the bottom). Here you can find common site functions for each site such as Create Post, Explore, Manage Feeds, Search, Direct Messaging & Conversations, Notifications, and your User Profile and Account Settings. You also can switch sites on fun.app by clicking the name of the site in the top left corner.
Once you’ve joined a community you can create posts to share to that community, and that community will appear in your left sidebar under “my communities”. Once you’ve joined a community, content from that community will appear in your home feed.
The left sidebar is your control panel for your experience. With this panel you have quick access to content sources you are following (communities and other users) and you can manage your custom feeds. There are two types of custom feeds in the left sidebar. The first is Channels, which are custom feeds that you can populate with sources you follow, such as other users and communities you join, and then you can share channels with others as your own custom built content source. The second is Collections, which are static feeds (similar to a photo album) where you can add individual posts to create a set that can be displayed on your profile and shared with others.
There are also two view modes for your home feed which can be selected from buttons above your left sidebar, View Home Feed, built from who you are following) and View All Posts, which shows all posts on a site.
Invitation Codes
Access to fun.app is available by invitation only. Currently, users are granted 5 single-use invitation codes once they verify their email. Please use discretion in inviting only members who will positively contribute to the fun.app experience.
The purpose of our invitation policy is to provide us with a system to mitigate bad actors from getting onto the network. Please keep in mind that you are responsible for users you invite, and further invites sent by users you add to the network will be indirectly associated with your account. We keep records of all invites, and we have a zero-tolerance policy towards those abusing our invitation system or intentionally inviting bad actors to our network.
We currently have an open register for account names and community names. All account and community names are available on a first-come-first-serve basis.
However, please be mindful that existing generic, famous, and trademarked names may come under dispute later on as the network grows. We are not responsible for any trademark infringement claims made against your account. We reserve the right to revoke and/or change your username, especially if a name is taken simply to hold a name without any engagement with the network. You are allowed to create multiple accounts with your invite codes but excessive account creation for the sole purpose of holding usernames is considered abuse of the invite system and is something we monitor as administrators.
Please note in the near future we intend to reserve most dictionary single words and over time will likely reserve famous trademarks. That said, good-faith registration, use, and overall good stewardship of a username will generally be respected by administrators to the best of our ability according to trademark law.
We are free speech absolutists and will protect your right to freedom of expression and opinion, but understand that as a private business we have the right to define rules for what is and is not allowed on fun.app. That being said, when using our services please keep in mind:
For further information on our exact content policy please refer to our terms of service (link can be found here and in the footer of our sites)
